What started as a retirement hobby farm has now blossomed into Two Chicks Farm LLC, a small but vibrant, multigenerational farm of 1.5 acres. We’re a team of farmers—JP, Brenda, our three children (Klent, Kelly, and Kat), and our nine-year-old grandson (Devin). 

Built on a foundation of love, purpose, and permaculture, our farm is a testament to the power of sustainable living and family tradition. By applying regenerative farming principles, we aim to build a self-sustaining system where the focus is on healthy soil, biodiversity, and ethical growing…to give you food you can trust.

Nexus Youth & Family Services is a dedicated nonprofit organization proudly serving Amador and Calaveras Counties. Nexus provides free, high-quality programs designed to support children, youth, and families through a wide range of services, including mental health care, substance use prevention, family advocacy, parenting support, and youth engagement opportunities.

Nexus also oversees the C.A.S.A. (Court Appointed Special Advocates) Program of Calaveras County, which pairs trained adult volunteers with children who are dependents of the court due to abuse or neglect. Through this program, Nexus ensures that vulnerable youth have a consistent, caring advocate to help them navigate the child welfare system and thrive.

In response to growing community needs, Nexus has expanded its impact into Calaveras County with the recent opening of the Youth Center in Valley Springs. The center operates Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 12:00 PM to 5:30 PM and provides a welcoming, supportive space for young people. 

Services focus on:

• Mental health and emotional well-being
• Substance use prevention
• Online and digital safety
• Academic support in a structured, encouraging environment
• Transitional age youth services
